An amazing story from Cambodia.
Ayakh's teeth didn't grow till he was five, and what he got was real vampire teeth. He likes meat, preferably live red meat. Only problem is his mother won't let him.
She has also prohibited him from eating the family's pig.
Ekstrabladet also reports the other parents are worried for their children...
In the future he plans to only eat women, he says.

Multiple Wives In The Name of Islam
Muhammad Insa is outraged because he's not permitted to marry a second wife. Although he understands that it may hurt his existing wife's feelings (comprehensible guy, eh?), he insists she'll get her compensation. In afterlife, as usual:
"If the wife agrees her husband marry another woman, according to Islam, her reward in heaven will be big."I hope her compensation will be bigger than your balls:
Asked about his wife's view of his pursuit of polygamy, Mr Insa said they had not discussed it. Asked why, he replied: "I don't want to look for troubles."

Britain: Prisons To Free 1,200 Drug Dealers. At Once...
Opening the doors for 1,200 criminals at the same time does not seem like a very good idea:
Jails across the country will open the door for burglars, drug dealers and other crooks.I suspect The Probation Service will be busy for the next couple of weeks.
It means hundreds of convicted criminals being let back in to our communities at once and, in an added insult, each will have up to £172 in cash to spend.
Another 300 are expected to walk out on Monday.

Massive Terror Attack Foiled In London
A man crashed a car filled with explosives into bins near the Regent Street shopping area (hattip: Interested-Participant):
The vehicle was a metallic green Mercedes which also contained significant quantities of petrol, several gas canisters and a large number of nails.Islamists terrorism?:
Sky's Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt said if the device had gone off it would have had the potential to cause widespread damage and multiple casualties.
Police have appealed for witnesses in relation to the case - the number is 0800 789 321.
Terrorism experts said an al Qaeda connection to the potential attack could not be dismissed.
"We couldn't rule it out," a security source said, noting that the threat from international Islamist terrorism was the main reason the official British threat level is placed at "severe", the second highest level.
"Numerically speaking, al Qaeda is a strong possibility but it just is too early to attribute specifically.
"It would be wrong and short-sighted to rule out domestic options as well. Obviously there are various extremist groups out there too," the source added.
The MI5 intelligence agency said last year it believed Islamist radicals were plotting at least 30 major terrorist attacks in Britain and it was tracking some 1,600 suspects.

A British police forensics officer takes photographs in the area where police defused a bomb in central London, June 29, 2007. British police defused a bomb left in an abandoned car in London's theatre district on Friday and launched a counter-terrorism investigation. REUTERS/Stephen Hird

A police officer stands guard in London's West end. Police made safe a suspected car bomb in central London and new Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the alert, near the anniversary of a major attack, shows the "serious and continuous" threat faced by Britain.(AFP/Shaun Curry)If we all could submit to islam...
Update: Security forces fear Baghdad-style tactics in London:
On the streets of Baghdad the use of car bombs is a daily tactic which reaps horrific results. Senior officers have been waiting and dreading for those tactics to be employed in the UK by homegrown Islamist extremists.Update: Jack Straw: "These things happen". Get used to it?
Recently Scotland Yard admitted that they were carrying out anti-terrorist spot checks on lorries entering the capital.
Update: Allahpundit is all over it. As for now he's skeptical about this being related to islamist terrorism. He's got a point, and good questions.
Update: Car bomb 'primed to be detonated by mobile'
Update: ‘Clear CCTV film of driver’:
One of the suspects may be an associate of a jailed al-Qaeda operative, Dhiren Barot, who plotted to kill “hundreds if not thousands” of people using limousines packed with explosives. The U.K police are hunting for him.
According to reports last night, “crystal clear” CCTV footage of the driver of the Mercedes left outside Tiger Tiger showed a “close resemblance” to the man. The US station ABC, quoting British authorities, also reported that mobile phones in both cars failed to detonate the bombs, though each was called twice. It added that the first car was stolen in June and seen in Scotland and Birmingham in the past two days.Scotland Yard refused to comment on the ABC reports.

In The Capital of The United Kingdom: "The Future Is Wonderful"
This is what Michael Hodges claims in an article in Time Out London. If we only would submit to islam and sharia law, all problems would be solved.
2+2=4!
It's one of the most ignorant articles I've ever read.
Before the Brits decide whether they want the sharia law or not, I propose you convince every one of them to try living in a country ruled by islamic laws. Specially women, homosexuals and Christians.
A one-way ticket to Iran or Saudi-Arabia would be a good start...
Some excerpts:
...rather than fear the inevitable changes this will bring to London, or buy in to a racist representation of all Muslims as terrorists...Firstly, being a muslim is a "choice" of religion, not race. Secondly, Not all muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists are muslims.
Islam offers Londoners potential health benefits. The islamic dress code you wish for may cause vitamin D deficiency in women. What about honor killings? Or the muslims duty to kill apostates, Christians and jews? Doesn't seem very healthy to me. Would be healthy for the propagation of islam though...
...turning all the city’s pubs into juice bars...You're joking, right?
"The world is green and beautiful," said the prophet Muhammad. He also said: "Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?" The women said, "Yes." He said, "This is because of the deficiency of a woman's mind."
Many private Muslim schools are under-resourced and if they can be brought into the state sector this valuable experience can be extended to more children. The children don't need these kind of teachings on their CV: A Saudi-funded Islamic school in London has been accused of poisoning the minds of pupils as young as five years with a curriculum of hate.
Colin Cook, 57, claims text books used by children at the King Fahad Academy in Acton, west London, describe Jews as "repugnant" and Christians as "pigs".
And Londoners would benefit philosophically and physically from even a short period when we weren’t constantly ramming food into our mouths.Your logic beats me...
London would become a little less cruel.Yes, just look at other countries ruled by islamic law. Top Ten reasons!
Finally, I'll give him credit for this one, regarding the islamic society:
A society where women are second-class citizens, same sex relationships a crime and Sharia law enforces terrible public disfigurement and death.A shame he was being ironic...
One more thing: Articles like the one below would be banned. Via Time Out, too:
Putin Invades The Arctic Looking For Fast Cash
Putin seems desperate for fresh money:
Russian President Vladimir Putin is making an astonishing bid to grab a vast chunk of the Arctic - so he can tap its vast potential oil, gas and mineral wealth. He ought to be careful though:
His scientists claim an underwater ridge near the North Pole is really part of Russia's continental shelf.
One newspaper printed a map of the "new addition", a triangle five times the size of Britain with twice as much oil as Saudi Arabia.
Experts estimate the ridge has ten billion tons of gas and oil deposits and significant sources of diamonds, gold, tin, manganese, nickel, lead and platinum.
"Frankly I think it's a little bit strange," Sergey Priamikov, the international co-operation director of Russia's Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute in St Petersburg, told the Guardian. "Canada could make exactly the same claim. The Canadians could say that the Lomonosov ridge is part of the Canadian shelf, which means Russia should in fact belong to Canada, together with the whole of Eurasia."Anyhow, the poor people of Russia won't see much of the petro-dollars.

Indian Singer Himesh Reshammiya In Burqa
A popular Bollywood male singer has apologised for wearing a burqa to pray in a famous Muslim shrine in India. It's rather serious business:
Himesh Reshammiya said he was sorry if people were "offended" by his dressing as a woman to enter the Ajmer shrine.
Call it a publicity stunt or genuine mistake but some people can go to any extent to promote their films. Wanted: Freedom of Press In Venezuela
It's the Venezuelan Journalist Day, a perfect day for the journalists to tell Hugo Chávez they want to do their job. Gateway Pundit has a round up.
Chávez is at present time in Russia, persuading them to revere and revive the ideas of the Soviet Union's founder Vladimir Lenin.
Furthermore, the news about protests for freedom of speech urged him to call for a counter-protest:
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Thursday urged his supporters to demonstrate in the streets to counter protests against him that erupted while he was away on a visit to Russia.VTV - Get to know them:
"Every time the enemy comes on the offensive, we must respond with a counter-offensive in the street, in the universities, on television, radio and in the press," he told the state broadcaster VTV by telephone from Moscow.
Venevisión, the largest private television network, showed soap operas during many of the protests, largely ignoring them. And Venezolana de Televisión, or VTV, the main government network, paid relatively little attention to the protests, instead interviewing government officials and pro-Chávez student groups at smaller counterprotests.Hugo's call from Moscow to the VTV broadcasting Company - Chávez states: "That march of some journalists defending a private company, whose name I can't even recall".

Iranian Mullahs Whine, Satirical Animated Movie Pulled

Via Charles Johnson, I learned that the iranian theocracy didn't like the cartoon movie made by Marjane Satrapi.
Bankok's film festival director and the officials of the iranian embassy came to mutual agreement that it would be beneficial to both countries if the film was not shown.
However, they do promote their own cartoon movies (suicide bombing and other trivialities).
Funny to see how an animated movie that criticizes the iranian regime's oppression of women, is considered not beneficial. Tragically, it is not a surprise.
The mullahs fear for the movie, thus the whining about islamophobia! islamophobia!, began one month ago:
Animated pic, based on Satrapi's autobiographical, bestselling graphic novel about her experiences growing up in Iran at the time of the 1979 revolution, offers a wry, satirical take on the oppressive life under the rule of the mullahs. Not surprisingly, it has rubbed some leading figures in the Iranian establishment the wrong way. They push the Islamophobia-button, and the whole world freezes. What a convenient tool.
"Islamophobia in Western drama started in France, and producing and highlighting the anti-Iranian film 'Persepolis' in Cannes falls in line with Islamophobia," said Mehdi Kalhor, a cultural adviser to Iranian prexy Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Do you think the obsessed mullahs found a way to blame it on the U.S? Of course they did:
Ali Akbar Velayati, former foreign minister and adviser to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said the French-produced film is another example of U.S. attempts to "encourage forces opposed to the authorities in any way possible."Ali Akbar Velayati allegedly participated the 1994 bombing of a Buenos Aires Jewish community centre.
You'll find an interview with Marjane Satrapi, from 2003, here (audio). She's also a guest columnist at The New York Times.
Here`s a teaser of Persepolis, with english subtitles. Don't miss the end:
In Cannes, May 23, she got emotional over the standing ovation she received:
And her dreaded cartoon movie is accurate. Compare the videos below. The first one is in French but you'll get the point:

Mass Rioting In Iran
...because of gas rationing. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad promised during elections to give the oil money back to the people.
Is he taking it first, in order to be able to give it to them later?:
Motorists set fire to petrol stations in Tehran today in an angry backlash against the Iranian government's decision to impose rationing. The timing makes me think there was no timing. Ahmadinejad was most likely forced, for economic reasons, to do it. He knew it was an unpopular decision to make:
One station in Pounak, a poor area of the capital, was set alight while another in eastern Tehran was partially burnt and two of its pumps were completely destroyed.
"Is this good timing, to announce rationing only three hours before it starts?" complained Ahmad Safai, a 30-year-old shopkeeper, who was queuing. "I had no gas in my car's tank when I heard the report."Blame the butcher!
Did you notice the irony? People are upset because of the lack of gas. In response, they burn the only places that can give it to them.
Photos and more over at Gateway Pundit and Pajamas Media (via Instapundit).
Update: Surprise!: They blame the U.S. But, eventually, they'll blame the butcher!
Update: Via Hotair, Iran bans negative petrol stories.

"Home Penis Enlargement"
Cambodian officials on Tuesday warned the public against home penis enlargement plans after a coroner found a man who had repeatedly self-injected his member with hair tonic had taken his own life to end the painful side effects. How do you get to the conclusion that injecting hair tonic directly into your appendage will help it growing? Hair growing agents stimulate the growth of hair. Exclusively.
Authorities said the man had been self-injecting for some time, and the treatment had caused massive ulceration, leaving him in such permanent agony that he decided to end his ordeal by his own hand.
As coroner Vieng Vannarith puts it:
He wanted a bigger one very badly, and the results were tragic.Indeed.
This posts Related Quote: "Spokesperson for Yalies Against Penis said, "It's time we put an end to this. We need to be forceful: Penis has the potential to grow out of control. Penises belong in the bedroom and the bathroom, not in the classroom."
Update: To my own question above: Because of aggressive and misleading advertisement campaigns?:

And advertisers capability to make the consumer believe that their product will convert them into a hero and an irresistible man? The ad below is an old one (their tactics haven't changed), with the slogan: Brings out the male in your hair...naturally.

Internet - The Sword of Allah
The Internet mightier than the Sword of Allah?
"The keyboard equals Kalashnikov" is a popular new slogan among radical Islamic groups today, according to a recent report highlighting extremists' use of the Internet in spreading their message. There's no doubt about it: Wordpress Hosting Jihadist Propaganda Blogs
Experts are voicing concerns that extremist messages on the web may contribute to radicalization, even among residents of the United States.
Islamist groups have created a sophisticated online media network, complete with multi-media video and audio, to spread their message to audiences speaking English and other Western languages, several studies have shown.
Here's a list of some of the terrorists tactics that are being used, from NET Worked Radicalization: A Counter Strategy (pdf):
1) Terrorists can draft an email message and save it as a draft rather than sending it, so that anyone with access to that email account can log in and read the message. Known as “dead drops,” these communications are less subject to interception.
2) Terrorists can post training manuals online or even hack into a legitimate website and hide training materials “deep in seemingly innocuous subdirectories of the legitimate site,” a process known as “parasiting.”
3) Terrorists can conduct research on potential targets online, where both text and imagery, including satellite photography, is frequently available. Google Earth, for instance, has been used to target British soldiers in Iraq with increasing accuracy.3
4)Terrorists can appeal anonymously for donations of financial or other support via websites.
If you want to known which counter-measures they propose, you can start reading the pdf-document on page 22. It doesn't look very promising.

Dream Catchers Hair Extensions For Paris Hilton

4) Successive photos must be "linked" (country, city, topic) to the previous.

Evil Jihadis Use Kids As Martyrs: "It Will Spray Flowers"
When I think the jihadi retards can't shock me anymore, they go and do this (hattip: Weaselzippers):
Taliban Told 6 Year Old His Suicide Vest Would "Spray Flowers"
Juma said that sometime last month Taliban fighters forced him to wear a vest they said would spray out flowers when he touched a button. He said they told him that when he saw American soldiers, “throw your body at them.”Luckily the kid understood it was a bomb and went for help:
“When they first put the vest on my body I didn’t know what to think, but then I felt the bomb,” Juma told The Associated Press as he ate lamb and rice after being introduced to the elders at this joint U.S.-Afghan base in Ghazni. “After I figured out it was a bomb, I went to the Afghan soldiers for help.”

Dr. Zakir Naik's Lessons In Logic
If you are fully aware of Dr. Zakir Naik's work, President of The Islamic Research Foundation, the deductions he's capable of doing will not surprise you. In an earlier post, I showed you how he, with his stunning sense of logic, concluded: If you're a single female, you're public property.
I know, I know. I was amazed, too.
In the video below, Dr. Naik explains the world why muslims must build mosques in non-Muslim countries while prohibiting churches and temples in Islamic states.

I can't wait to see this happen: Dr Zakir Naik invites Pope Benedict XVI for open interfaith dialogue
"I am more than willing to participate in the inter-faith dialogue with Pope Benedict XVI. I am ready on any topic he (the Pope) wishes as long as it focuses on Quran and the Bible," Dr. Naik said. He said he can go to Rome or Vatican to meet the Pope. Now that you, my dear reader, have discovered Dr. Naik's system of logic, what should worry us the most is this:
Dr. Naik during the past three years has delivered over 600 lectures in the US and Canada.Btw, there's even a petiton online for this interfaith dialogue to take place: "For the whole world to see".

Abu Hamza Concerned About Human Rights

Egyptian muslim Abu Hamza, who wants his fellow worshippers to kill all infidels, is suddenly concerned about the human rights. His own human rights, of course:
HATE preacher Abu Hamza has refused any more treatment from his prison nurse after finding out the man is gay.I am sure Queenie is doing a god job, but Jack suggests they should let befuddled Abu wipe his own bottom. With the hook.
Now the cleric is claiming it is against his religion and human rights to be treated by a homosexual.
The prison service refused saying it does not discriminate on grounds of sexuality.
The source said: "The nurse is upset about it. He has spent the last couple of years doing everything for Hamza, even wiping his bottom.
"It shows how little respect Hamza has for others. The nurse dresses him, washes him, cleans his teeth, cuts his toenails, trims his beard and applies ointment for his skin disorder."
Exit question: Did Abu Hamza know that paying for sex is not permitted by Islam?

With Or Without?
While we worry about islamic terrorism and suicide bombers, Palestinian MP from Hamas Dr. Yunis Al-Astal, and the interviewer, ponder over more vital issues:
Interviewer: "Dr. Al-Astal, we have seen that some of the female martyrdom-seekers set out on their martyrdom operation without a veil. To what extent does our religion allow women, when they embark upon jihad for the sake of Allah, to use means of camouflage such as removing the veil?"It's even stupider than this.
Yunis Al-Astal: "With regard to your question about the veil, especially when it comes to martyrdom-seekers who had to go into the Zionist cities deep in Palestine - jihad is a duty, and so is wearing a veil, but the duty of jihad is ten times great than the duty of wearing a veil."
If you don't read blogs, you'll never know. Which demonstrates the complete failure of the MSM.

Norway: Converting From Islam To Avoid Deportation
Several afghan illegal immigrants in Norway have converted from Islam to Christianity in order to obtain asylum.
And exactly why would the conversion increase their chances, you may wonder?
Because according to the Religion of Peace, muslims who turn their back to islam, apostates, must be killed.
Being an apostate in Afghanistan will endanger your life, as we have seen before.
Aftenposten reports:
Many of the 21 refugees arrested last week when police broke up their camp in front of the Norwegian Parliament were expected to be sent back to Afghanistan over the weekend. They remained in Norway Monday morning, after Oslo Bishop Ole Christian Kvarme told immigration officials that several had converted to Christianity.Their cases will be reevaluated.
Their conversion could leave them facing death threats in Afghanistan. Norwegian officials won't return refugees to their homelands if their lives would be in danger.
Exit question: Liberals support multiculturalism and are usually apologists for islam's barbarities. Will they support the idea that the immigrants cannot be deported because their lives would be in danger, because of the Religion of Peace?

Spain: "It's Our Right To Return"
Expert on islam, Gustavo de Aristegui said this exactly one year ago:
“Their number two obsessions is”, according to Arístegui, “the reconquering of the territories that were in their power at some time in history, even if it just was for a single day”, and remembered that “Gijón (city in northern Spain) had had a governing Moor”, which “means that whoever lives in territories that previously belonged to islamic rule, is an illegal occupant in the best of the cases and, in the worst, descendents of apostates”.Today, via Robert Spencer, who writes:
And so it begins: the application of the "right of return" rhetoric that has worked so well in Israel to Spain, another land that belongs by right to the Dar al-Islam, and now must be reclaimed from the infidels....I found this news story from Reuters:
Giving them preferential terms for Spanish citizenship would be an act of symbolic reconciliation, said Mansur Escudero, head of Spain's Islamic Board, the biggest group representing Spanish Muslims. The insanity goes on:
It would be more of an emotional, moral gesture, a recognition of an historic injustice," he told Reuters, adding that some "Andalusian" families still preserved keys to houses they left behind four centuries ago.
A small left-wing party, Izquierda Unida, has backed the call for preferential citizenship for descendents of Spanish Muslims. The governing Socialists, who have promoted an "Alliance of Civilizations" between the West and Islam, have yet to give their response, Escudero said. There is an avalanche of Islamic mosque building projects in Spain.
How ignorant can you allow yourself to be, having been democratically elected? This occured in France:
The Temple de Paris Church has been located in the Paris suburb of Bagnolet. Christine Thabot, the wife of the pastor, says Muslims have been trying to get rid of them since 2005, but local authorities had permitted the church to remain in the facility, paying 8,000 euros a month (~ $9,400 U.S.) in rent.Want more?. You got it:
According to Thabot, the Muslims changed their strategy. "They attacked our owner this time," she explains. "They took up the case and [told him he was] not allowed to have this church open -- and on Friday we [were told] that we had to get out of our premises."
Thabot says Temple de Paris Church has been unable to secure another worship center. "For an evangelical or Protestant church, it is almost next to impossible to buy or to rent any premises," she says. "As soon as they find out you are a church, there is nothing open to us."
Thabot says many churches in the area have been closed and have had similar difficulties in securing new facilities. But she claims Muslims can secure property for building a mosque simply by paying one euro to the authorities.
STOLEN Muslim land drives the hatred of Indonesia-based extremist network Jemaah Islamiah for the west, the group's jailed military boss told CNN in an interview broadcast today.Update: History - Caliph of Córdoba and The Umayyad dynasty.
In the interview with CNN at a police station in the central city of Yogyakarta, Dujana, shown handcuffed and smiling, said he thought "Americans or other civilians can become a target - that's how I see it".
Asked where the hatred of the west came from, he replied: "Many lands owned by Muslims have been taken away by our enemies. America is part of it, like in Palestine and other places.
"We demand those governments return those lands and let us put Sharia law in place."

All Caliphs of Córdoba were members of the Umayyad dynasty; the same dynasty had held the title Emir of Córdoba and ruled over roughly the same territory since 756. The Caliph's rule is known as the splendor of Muslim presence in the Iberian peninsula, although it was practically finished in 1010, with the fitna (or civil war) which started between descendants of the last legitimate Caliph Hisham II and the successors of his prime minister (or hayib) Almanzor. Furthermore, the Caliph's Empire probably was exhausted by its expensive military efforts. However, the Caliph officially existed until 1031, when it was fractured into a number of independent taifas.

Looking For Properties In Spain? Amazing Discounts!
In fact, the reality of Spain’s property market’s performance in the last quarter is not as bad as you might think from recent articles, but not as good as the official housing price figures from the Government imply. Spain’s decade long real estate boom is over, and it is a buyer’s market, but it is also a complex situation of regional markets performing in different ways. The image below should convince you. It's an advertisement scanned from a Málaga newspaper. Discounts ("ahorro") up to 126,950 euros ($170,300).

Ayaan Hirsi Ali: A Portrait
Writes Salim Mansur:
Muslim reform can only progress by Muslims first taking an honest and unflinching look at their world. And the most urgent of reforms is bringing to an end the religiously sanctioned denial of women as equal in all respect to men that lies at the source of violence directed at women. But the emergence of Islamism has become a formidable obstacle for Muslims to engage without fear in critically examining the state of their society and the role of Islam in inhibiting reform and progress. The situation has worsened since 9/11, and it is only someone with extraordinary courage and total disregard of the inevitable harm might engage publicly in speaking from within about Islam and the ills of the Muslim world.Read it all at Pajamas Media.

Venezuela: Hugo Chávez Wants Guerrilla War Against The U.S
Chávez continues to agitate the citizens of Venezuela, with his propaganda (via Hotair):
We must continue developing the resistance war, that's the anti-imperialist weapon. We must think and prepare for the resistance war everyday," said Chavez, who has repeatedly warned that American soldiers could invade Venezuela to seize control of the South American nation's immense oil reserves. And he is using this propaganda to "justify" recent spendings:
Under Chavez, Venezuela has recently purchased some $3 billion worth of arms from Russia, including 53 military helicopters, 100,000 Kalashnikov rifles, 24 SU-30 Sukhoi fighter jets.A while ago, Hugo Chávez was confronted by a norwegian journalist, regarding the dreadful situation in venezuelan hospitals. Hugo didn't seem to like it too much... English language after 26 secs:
Last week, Chavez said he is considering arms purchases, including submarines and a missile-equipped air defense system, as he prepares for a tour of Russia, Belarus and Iran.
The journalist finally was pushed away by Chavez' bodyguards...
The first segment of the clip below, shows "the love" for Chavez. I've been told, by a venezuelan, that socialist Chávez pays each family member for "showing him their love and support". The TV stations are obliged to broadcast these events...
In the second segment, you'll see ordinary people who haven't been paid to "love and support" Hugo. The old woman, 55 seconds in, says: "What I think about Chávez? He's the worst president Venezuela has had ever. He's rubbish ("trash"). Not competent". Less jobs and a lot more crime...
The third segment: Venezuela's petrol income is huge. See which country is their model!
Psst! Do you know what venezuelans say after they've been to the toilet? - "I just sent a fax to Chávez".
Update: Nobel Peace Price Laureate Lech Walesa: "President Hugo Chávez is "a demagogue and populist" who eventually "will have to pay for what he has done".

Message In A Bottle

Don Surber notes the trend of "Bottle babies" has turned into a "serious" environmental issue. Apart from a million-dollar business, of course.
The "Bottle babies" (what a great term, heh) should listen to their doctor:
At every moment water escapes the body through sweat, urination, defecation or exhaled breath, among other routes. Replacing these lost stores is essential but rehydration can be overdone. There is such a thing as a fatal water overdose.

Video: Pablo Casals - Spanish Cellist
Pau Carles Salvador Casals i Defilló (Pablo Casals) (December 29, 1876 – October 22, 1973), was a virtuoso Catalan Spanish cellist and later conductor. He made many recordings throughout his career, of solo, chamber, and orchestral music, also as conductor, but Casals is perhaps best remembered for the recording of the Bach: Cello Suites he made from 1936 to 1939. Bangladesh Court: Evidences Explode
Well, they were homemade bombs:
Five small, homemade bombs produced before a court as evidence in a trial exploded Sunday in eastern Bangladesh, leaving six people wounded, witnesses said. They did not learn from the last time this happend in a Bangladesh court. In that occasion they didn't go off:
When Captain Tareq Rahman Khan of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) saw the Public Prosecutor, Shahidul Islam, uncovering the explosives in front of the judge, he admitted suffering temporary heart failure.
"I got the shock of my life," he was quoted as saying in the New Age newspaper.
Captain Khan warned the prosecutor that the bombs could go off at any moment and cause carnage in the crowded courtroom.
"It was fortunate we were not all blown to smithereens," one officer was reported as saying.

As these screenshots show, some incoming links on YouTube videos are found to contain username/passwords of FTP servers that could allow anyone to login into these servers. All vulnerabilities fixed, allegedly:
If Google doesn't fix this immediately, it could possibly become a big security issue for FTP sites whose credentials are now available in Google cache.
A few days after I issued the ultimatum, Google Security contacted me and we could successfully fix all known vulnerabilities. I have also talked with Hunter Walk who is Product Manager at YouTube and suggested him to set up a security response team at YouTube to make sure that issues like these are better routed in the future. He promised me to take care of that.

HELEN, Ga. -- A 135-kg black bear raided a family's campsite, and the father saved his sons from harm by throwing a log at the beast, killing it with a single blow. Chris Everhart and his three sons were camping in the Chattahoochee National Forest in northern Georgia when the encounter happened. The bear took the family's cooler and was heading back to the woods when the youngest son, six-year-old Logan, hurled a shovel at it. The bear went for the boy, prompting Everhart, an ex-marine, to throw the logat it.And he got a ticket:

Iran Leads the World in Executing Children

As far as I know, Ahmadinejad is silent (Hat tip: Zaneirani):
Iran is known to have executed at least 17 juvenile offenders since the beginning of 2004 – eight times more than any other country in the world.I assume he's too busy waiting for the imminent appearance of apocalyptic Islamic "Mahdi".
“Iran holds the deplorable distinction of leading the world in juvenile executions, and the authorities should end this practice at once,” said Clarisa Bencomo, children’s rights researcher on the Middle East at Human Rights Watch. “The Iranian government needs to stop sending children to the gallows and start living up to its international obligations by issuing clear legislation to ban the juvenile death penalty.”

Just...weird:
In May, The Times of London, interviewing witnesses in Diyala province in Iraq, described scenes from the hard-core Salafist version of Islam being enforced (similar to what the Taliban imposed in Afghanistan), including breaking the fingers of those who repeatedly smoked cigarettes, prohibiting grocers from displaying bananas (as “obscene”), and requiring them to screen cucumbers from tomatoes (as the latter are “feminine vegetables”). UK Muslims Wish For Tony Blairs Death
During a protest that took place yesterday afternoon at Regents Park mosque in London, some of the protesters hoped to see Tony Blair returning from his Middle East peace-promoting trip "in a box":
"We've come to demonstrate against the apostate Salman Rushdie," said one. "He has insulted Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. Salman Rushdie is the devil. We have a responsibility - he should be punished, he should be attacked. We should not be afraid of the kuffar [non-believer]. They say Tony Blair is going to be sent to the Middle East as a peace envoy. We hope he comes back in a box."Other muslims disagreed:
"It is disrespectful to behave like this outside a mosque," said Mohammed Ahmed, a 24-year-old part-time charity worker. "This protest will do nothing to change the negative perceptions people have about our religion."Indeed.
Could this kind of behavior explain the "islamophobia" phenomenon?

Shock: Environmental Hypocrisy At The UN
This entry, at Instapundit's blog, reminded me of an article I read a couple of weeks ago in the norwegian newspaper Aftenposten:
The head of the UN's environmental program opted for one of the least environmentally friendly modes of transport to get to this week's conference in Tromsø.Achim Steiner, executive director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), refuted: "It was a very little jet". Heh.
Furthermore, Mr. Steiner says he always purchases so-called "climate tickets".
It doesn't prevent pollution, but may calm eager journalists.
Certainly, there is an irony.
Update, also via Glenn Reynolds: Don Surber notes more incongruity, but not by the UN this time:
Ken Thomas of AP reported that senators voted to raise mileage in cars to a gajillion-miles-per-gallon by next week. Then they adjourned for the weekend, hopped in their SUVs, drove to the airport, got in their Gulfstream jets and flew home.Buy a bike!:
TOWN hall workers will be paid a mileage rate if they use a bicycle rather than a car on official business. If I had the possibility I would do so.

2000 Islamic Scholars Honor Osama bin Laden
They really, really hate the West:
The Pakistani Ulema Council, a private body that claims to beRelated posts.the biggest of its kind in the country with 2000 scholars, said it had given Bin Laden the title "Saifullah", or Sword of Allah, its top accolade.
"We are pleased to award the title of Saifullah to Osama bin Laden after the British government's decision to bestow the title of 'Sir' on blasphemer Rushdie," council chairman Maulana Tahir Ashrafi told AFP.
"This is the highest title for a Muslim warrior."
Update: Everything is as you would expect it to be:
Pakistani traders Thursday announced a reward of 10 million rupees (165,000 dollars) for anyone who beheads Salman Rushdie following Britain’s decision to award the novelist a knighthood.
Meanwhile Islamic scholars bestowed a top honour on Osama bin Laden in response to the British accolade, as a senior ruling party member said he would not hesitate to kill the ‘Satanic Verses’ writer.

Global Cooling
Sounds funny and uncool, doesn't it?
Here you have another professor, R. Timothy Patterson, director of the Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Centre, confronting the global warming phenomenon:
Solar scientists predict that, by 2020, the sun will be starting into its weakest Schwabe solar cycle of the past two centuries, likely leading to unusually cool conditions on Earth. Beginning to plan for adaptation to such a cool period, one which may continue well beyond one 11-year cycle, as did the Little Ice Age, should be a priority for governments. It is global cooling, not warming, that is the major climate threat to the world, especially Canada. As a country at the northern limit to agriculture in the world, it would take very little cooling to destroy much of our food crops, while a warming would only require that we adopt farming techniques practiced to the south of us.Watch the global warming swindle in the video below, paying special attention to the political and economical aspects of the Channel 4 documentary. Oh yeah, and why Al Gore is wrong about "his" theory.
One more thing that ought to require your attention: the hypocrisy and intolerance among the scientists. Seeing how the scientists who appear in this documentary are being considered heretics is, quite frankly, stunning. How do they pretend to evolve, if discrepancies aren't allowed?

Sir Osama bin Laden
Because if the author of "The Satanic Verses", Sir Salman Rushdie, got knighted why shouldn't mass murderers like Osama bin Laden, Mullah Omar and the Taliban leader get the "sir"-title?
This logical deduction was processed by a religious Pakistani parliamentarian:
Islamabad - A hard-line Pakistani parliamentarian and head of a religious political party on Wednesday demanded a "sir" title for Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist network, in retaliation for Britain knighting author Salman Rushdie.Related: "Sir Salman Rushdie"
"Muslims should confer the 'sir' title and all other awards on bin Laden and Mullah Omar in reply to Britain's shameful decision to knight Rushdie," Sami ul Haq, leader of the pro-Taliban Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, said in a statement, referring also to the leader of the Taliban.

Islamic Republic of Iran To Stone Mother And Father
...of an 11-year-old child.
The stoning of the parents will be inaugurated by the judge, who will have the honor to throw the first stone:
Mokarrameh Ebrahimi is a 43 year old woman and mother of an 11 year old who has spent the past 11 years in Choubin prison in Ghazvin after being sentenced to stoning. The father of the child has also been in prison for 11 years and is scheduled to be stoned with her.
According to the Meydaan, the official site of the Stop Stoning Forever Campaign, an informed source has verified the news and added that “the pits are dug and prepared in Behesht Zahra cemetery to implement the sentence.”
This source also added that the sentence has been issued solely based on the judge’s knowledge, and there have been no witnesses to the so called crime of adultery and having a child out of wedlock. It seems that the couple have lived together for a while and shortly after been imprisoned. There are different rumors about the woman’s past. Some say that her husband had thrown her out of the house and she had been living with her mother for two years. Both the man and the woman have children from their previous marriages. Mokarrameh, who is the mother of three children, is very distressed and in sever disarray in prison.

And when you think you have seen it all, the islamist wackos improve their methods of tyranny and evil.

Launch of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain
Another Council of Ex-Muslims has been founded, this time in Britain. Maryam Namazie, a rights activist, commentator and broadcaster on Iran, the Middle East, women's rights, cultural relativism, secularism, Humanism, religion, Islam and political Islam, is the founder of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain.
On her web page she gives us an advance:
A British branch of a new Europe-wide phenomenon is to be launched on Thursday 21 June in London. The Council of ex-Muslims of Britain is building on the stunning success of other branches already operating in Germany, Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The British Humanist Association and National Secular Society are sponsoring the launch and support the new organisation. The press release can be found here.
The Council will provide a voice for those labelled Muslim but who have renounced religion and do not want to be identified by religion.
Rights activist Maryam Namazie will be the voice of the organisation in this country. She said: “We are establishing the alternative to the likes of the Muslim Council of Britain because we don’t think people should be pigeonholed as Muslims or deemed to be represented by regressive organisations like the MCB. Those of us who have come forward with our names and photographs represent countless others who are unable or unwilling to do so because of the threats faced by those considered 'apostates' - punishable by death in countries under Islamic law. By doing so, we are breaking the taboo that comes with renouncing Islam but also taking a stand for reason, universal rights and values, and secularism. We are quite certain we represent a majority in Europe and a vast secular and humanist protest movement in countries like Iran.”
It takes courage to confront the dominant islamic organization MCB, whose leader compares the British Government's treatment of Muslims with the Nazis' persecution of Jews and rushes to criticise Sir Salman Rushdie's knighthood without bringing up the fact that islamic leaders are encouraging to take Sir Rushdie's life: "Obligation for the muslims to kill him".
Here is the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain's MANIFESTO:
We, non-believers, atheists, and ex-Muslims, are establishing or joining the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain to insist that no one be pigeonholed as Muslims with culturally relative rights nor deemed to be represented by regressive Islamic organisations and 'Muslim community leaders'.Here you have a couple of videos, if you feel like knowing more about Maryam Namazie:
Those of us who have come forward with our names and photographs represent countless others who are unable or unwilling to do so because of the threats faced by those considered 'apostates' - punishable by death in countries under Islamic law.
By doing so, we are breaking the taboo that comes with renouncing Islam but also taking a stand for reason, universal rights and values, and secularism.
Whilst religion or the lack thereof is a private affair, the increasing intervention of and devastation caused by religion and particularly Islam in contemporary society has necessitated our public renunciation and declaration. We represent a majority in Europe and a vast secular and humanist protest movement in countries like Iran.
Taking the lead from the Central Council of Ex-Muslims in Germany, we demand:
1. Universal rights and equal citizenship for all. We are opposed to cultural relativism and the tolerance of inhuman beliefs, discrimination and abuse in the name of respecting religion or culture.
2. Freedom to criticise religion. Prohibition of restrictions on unconditional freedom of criticism and expression using so-called religious 'sanctities'.
3. Freedom of religion and atheism.
4. Separation of religion from the state and legal and educational system.
5. Prohibition of religious customs, rules, ceremonies or activities that are incompatible with or infringe people's rights and freedoms.
6. Abolition of all restrictive and repressive cultural and religious customs which hinder and contradict woman's independence, free will and equality. Prohibition of segregation of sexes.
7. Prohibition of interference by any authority, family members or relatives, or official authorities in the private lives of women and men and their personal, emotional and sexual relationships and sexuality.
8. Protection of children from manipulation and abuse by religion and religious institutions.
9. Prohibition of any kind of financial, material or moral support by the state or state institutions to religion and religious activities and institutions.
10. Prohibition of all forms of religious intimidation and threats.

Update: Video
Discussion of the 'British Muslim community'.
David Starkey is joined by:
- Taji Mustafa (a spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahir),
- Maryam Namazie (campaigner for the rights of women and refugees in Islamic countries)
- Inayat Bunglawala (media secretary for the Muslim Council of Britain).
Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett has called for British Muslims to speak out against extremism. Should moderate Muslims be expected to stand up to Islamic extremism within their communities? Are they doing it already, but the mainstream media aren't listening?
'The Muslim community' is often spoken of, with little clarification of who makes up this community, or whether it can really be said to speak with one voice.
One of the areas where this voice is very loudly heard is on the issue of freedom of expression. In a free society, there is no obligation to offend, but equally we have a right to offend: should Islam be uniquely exempt from offence or satire?

"Sir Salman Rushdie"
"Sir Salman". Awesome!
But islamic religious affair leader says the knighted must die:
Religious affairs leader Mohammed Ijaz ul-Haq said honouring the author insulted Muslims. He raged at his parliament: "If someone exploded a bomb on his body he would be right to do so unless the Britain apologises and withdraws the 'sir' title."As always, the misunderstanders of the Religion of Peace threaten the infidels.
And burn our flags and queens. Such a creativity could have been used more wisely, don't you think?:
Students burned effigies of the Queen and Rushdie in Multan, chanting: "Kill him" Their leader Asim Dahr said: "This Queen has made a mockery of Muslims." The British flag was burnt in Lahore.NOTE: If you're a worshipper of the Religion of Peace, it's your obligation to kill Sir Salman. The deal doesn't say anything about the 72 virgins, but at least you could cash in $150,000.
If you hurry up, you may get your licence to kill in time!

With A Licence To Kill
...infidels in Europe, Canada and the U.S:
Large teams of newly trained suicide bombers are being sent to the United States and Europe, according to evidence contained on a new videotape obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com.It seems stupid to invite a journalist to take photos and report from the "graduation", if the nutty radical muslims were to, secretly, carry out attacks.
Teams assigned to carry out attacks in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Germany were introduced at an al Qaeda/Taliban training camp graduation ceremony held June 9.
A Pakistani journalist was invited to attend and take pictures as some 300 recruits, including boys as young as 12, were supposedly sent off on their suicide missions.
Unless if it's purpose is propaganda. But then again, the radical islamists are crazy enough to fulfill their mission, blowing up themselves and killing innocent people, women and children included. For the sake of Allah and the 72 virgins who await...

Windows Vista DVD: Who Are Those People In That Picture?
*Updates below*
Windows Vista Virtual Easter Egg:
Kwisatz has discovered a picture of three guys on the Windows Vista DVD cover. Who are they? What's the purpose? Does Bill Gates know about it?
I guess it's just a prank, but by whom?
He has taken the photos with a Nikon 5700 (click on images to enlarge):
He also says there are three more holographic pictures on the cover, but he hasn't been able to figure out what's depicted in them.
Do you have a Vista DVD and a microscope?
Head over to the Kwisatz site (spanish language) for more photos.
Update: Paul McNamara over at NetworkWorld sent a mail to the Microsoft PR agency to ask about their identity. The PR agency: "No comment".Update: I see some people are suggesting the hologram could be an anti-piracy measure. But, then again, the pictures are on the cover, not on the DVD itself.
Update: Solved:
"Conspiracy theorists will be disappointed," said White. "The photo is only one of multiple images contained in the hologram design, all of whose inclusion serves to make it more difficult to replicate a Windows Vista DVD." The three men in the photo, said White, are members of Microsoft's antipiracy team who worked on the Vista holograms. Other images on the disc -- Kwisatz said he had found three others, but couldn't make out details -- are art masterpieces in the public domain, added White.Photos via Flickr.com (click on images to enlarge):
"These security measures were never intended to be impossible to find, but rather difficult to reproduce," said White.
Microsoft stepped up the DVD antiduplication measures used for Vista and embedded numerous holograms in the plastic. "While it's extremely difficult to replicate a holographic design in general, the inclusion of original images makes it that much more so," White said.

Vicious Women
Protecting vulnerable men from vicious women in Saudi-Arabia:
ONE glaring spring day, when the hot winds raced in off the plains and the sun blotted everything to white, I stood outside a Riyadh bank, sweating in my black cloak while I waited for a friend. The sidewalk was simmering, but I had nowhere else to go. As a woman, I was forbidden to enter the men’s half of the bank to fetch him. Traffic screamed past on a nearby highway. The winds tugged at the layers of black polyester. My sunglasses began to slip down my glistening nose.To bypass the registration you can follow this link.
The door clattered open, and I looked up hopefully. But no, it was a security guard. And he was stomping straight at me, yelling in Arabic. I knew enough vocabulary to glean his message: He didn’t want me standing there. I took off my shades, fixed my blue eyes on him blankly and finally turned away as if puzzled. I think of this as playing possum.
He disappeared again, only to reemerge with another security guard. This man was of indistinct South Asian origin and had an English vocabulary. He looked like a pit bull — short, stocky and teeth flashing as he barked: “Go! Go! You can’t stand here! The men can SEE! The men can SEE!”
I looked down at him and sighed. I was tired. “Where do you want me to go? I have to wait for my friend. He’s inside.” But he was still snarling and flashing those teeth, arms akimbo. He wasn’t interested in discussions.
“Not here. NOT HERE! The men can SEE you!” He flailed one arm toward the bank.
I lost my temper.
“I’m just standing here!” I snapped. “Leave me alone!” This was a slip. I had already learned that if you’re a woman in a sexist country, yelling at a man only makes a crisis worse.
The pit bull advanced toward me, making little shooing motions with his hands, lips curled back. Involuntarily, I stepped back a few paces and found myself in the shrubbery. I guess that, from the bushes, I was hidden from the view of the window, thereby protecting the virtue of all those innocent male bankers. At any rate, it satisfied the pit bull, who climbed back onto the sidewalk and stood guard over me. I glared at him. He showed his teeth. The minutes passed. Finally, my friend reemerged.
A liberal, U.S.-educated professor at King Saud University, he was sure to share my outrage, I thought. Maybe he’d even call up the bank — his friend was the manager — and get the pit bull in trouble. I told him my story, words hot as the pavement.
He hardly blinked. “Yes,” he said. “Oh.” He put the car in reverse, and off we drove.

Pakistan: Lal Masjid's 10,000 Suicide Bombers
10,000 islamists who are willing to blow up innocents, women and children, united in one of the most important mosques there is: Lal Masjid, the central Religion of Peace-mosque of Islamabad.
Luckily, the Lal Masjid administration invited Imam of the Holy Kaaba Dr. Abdul Rehman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sudais to check out the ground realitites.
Which are:
New Delhi: Pakistan's Lal Masjid, where a standoff between the mosque administration and the local police continues for over a fortnight now, has more than 10,000 suicide bombers on the mosque premises, the Khateeb of the mosque, Maulana Abdul Aziz, has claimed. At the same time, Tony Blair finds it reasonable to fund imam's training:
Tony Blair says he wants the "voice of moderation" among Muslims to be heard, as £1m funding was announced to boost Islamic studies at UK universities.Good luck with that.
For context: 59% of UK muslims deny 7/7 bombings
Not a minority; Training for the army; Victimhood mentality; Detached from reality
"Shock" Update, via Hotair: MUSLIMS: MI5 BEHIND 7/7
NEARLY a quarter of British Muslims believe the security services were behind the 7/7 bombings, a shock survey revealed last night.
The poll for Channel 4 News found 24 per cent of UK Muslims thought the Government or bodies such as MI5 were "involved in some way". Fifty-two per cent of 500 Muslims asked also think the security services "made up" evidence against the four bombers who killed 52 people. And 68 per cent said the Muslim community does not bear responsibility for the emergence of extremists in the UK.

Iran: Mohammad-Javad Larijani Defends Stoning As Punishment
And Larijani is the mullahs’ Judiciary Chief Advisor. Not just some lunatic in the street...
He also makes it clear for us that the human rights will not stop the propagation of islam, the religion of peace.
At least, before the stoning can begin, he wants to explain and elucidate why it's necessary.
I feel better now.
Iranian regime’s judiciary advisor defends the inhumane punishment by stoning
NCRI - Mohammad-Javad Larijani, the mullahs’ Judiciary Chief Advisor and an ideologue within the clerical regime, attended a gathering of “Prosecutors from Islamic Capitals in Tehran,” in which he defended the inhumane punishment of stoning and said, “We will never surrender Islam in the face of human rights concerns … During the adoption of these (human rights) laws, the world of Islam was in complete ignorance while liberals and secular parties formulated and imposed these laws onto the entire world … We must elucidate punishment by stoning clearly to those who denounce it. We had a revolution so that Islamic laws would be implemented … We will never give up Islam in the face of these challenges” (State-run news agency ILNA, May 30, 2007).

Harassment of Iranian-Americans In Iran, AFP Digs Up Photo Dated Year 2000
The AFP article covers the harassment, by the iranian regime, of Americans:
WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States is investigating reports that Iran has charged a fourth US-Iranian national of espionage in what a senior official called an apparent "pattern of harassment" of Americans by the clerical regime in Tehran.Accompanying this news story, AFP, the worlds oldest news agency and one of the three most important, found it appropriate to use the photo below, dated year 2000:
An Iranian woman passes by a mural in 2000 showing the US Statue of Liberty with a skull as a face at the American embassy in Tehran. (AFP/File/Behrouz Mehri)Using a seven year old photo, the AFP was able, finally, to throw in some anti-Americanism, the skull representing American death and mortality, in an article that obviously shows Iran as being the violator of fundamental rights.
