Hina's father, Mohammad, apparently cut her throat last week in Sarezzo after she repeatedly refused an arranged marriage to a cousin in Pakistan. The 20-year-old woman was romantically involved with an Italian, had gone to live with him, worked in a pizzeria and wanted to become an actress.

"These imams are religious extremists who accord women no rights," Sbai stressed. For years, they have been operating from makeshift mosques in garages or Halal butchers' shops, have fanned misogyny, have terrorised immigrant Muslim communities and have retarded their integration, she said.

The introduction of Sharia Law in Britain along with important religious days in the Muslim calendar becoming public holidays for followers of the faith should do the trick, or so claims the secretary general of the Union of Muslim Organisations in the UK and Ireland.

As Dr Syed Aziz Pasha says: "If you give us religious rights we will be in a better position to convince young people that they are being treated equally along with other citizens."

Pakistan: Church Demolished

Shahbaz Bhatti, chairman of the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA), condemned the “brutal” demolition of the church and demanded stern legal action against those responsible. Bhatti said the court was on the point of issuing an order not to go ahead with the demolition but the management of the factory went ahead: “They were not authorized to raze the church.

The APMA chairman said a mosque standing close by the church was not even touched. “Only the church, a symbol of the vulnerability of the Christian minority, fell victim to the intolerance of these industrialists.”

What if the mosque had been pulverized and not the church?

Bosnian TV Station Runs US-Censored South Park Episode

Comedy Central censored Muhammed a while ago.

Islamic groups in Bosnia are infuriated after local TV network OBN broadcast an episode of South Park which depicts the Muslim Prophet Mohammed.

The episode in question portrays the Muslim prophet alongside Christianity's Jesus Christ, Hinduism's Krishna and Buddhism's Buddha.

Enes Ljevakovic, head of the Bosnian Islamic Council, says: "The broadcast (of the cartoon) is unacceptable and we condemn it and consider it to be a kind of provocation.

"The cartoon was even censored in the United States and that is what the local Bosnian television station should have done as well."

Kudos to OBN for having the guts.

Ali Larijani called the UN Security Council resolution issued last week “illegal” and said Iran won’t respect the deadline. “We reject this resolution,” he told reporters.

“We will expand nuclear activities where required. It includes all nuclear technology including the string of centrifuges,” Larijani said, referring to the centrifuges Iran uses to enrich uranium.

In its first banning of a play since its was formed in 2003, the government's Media Development Authority said it was withdrawing the performance licence for "Smegma" as it was "insensitive and inappropriate for staging", the Today paper said on Saturday.

"Smegma undermines the values underpinning Singapore's multi-racial, multi-religious society. The play portrays Muslims in a negative light," the media authority was quoted as saying in Today.

The media authority, which initially agreed to the public performance of "Smegma", back-peddled on Friday and said it was worried that the play "could create unhappiness and disaffection amongst Muslims", the newspaper reported.
