Islamist fundamentalism threatens world's civilization

We´ve just witnessed the horrific terror attacks killing almost 200. Instapundit has a roundup.

Who is to blame? The common denominator is "islamic"...

I believe that the civilized world is facing the greatest threat to it way of life — its very existence — that has ever occurred in human history. That threat is the pervasive spread of militant ''Islamism,'' a fundamentalist branch of Islam that seeks to subjugate the entire world. Most Muslims do not support this radical movement, and we must have their help to stop it. To better understand the roots of Islamism, the radical fundamentalist view of Islam, we must consider the history of the spread of the religion.

We have seen the horrors that can result from radical Islamist fundamentalism. Slavery. Repression of women. Fathers killing their daughters for dating non-Muslims. People sentenced to death for converting to another religion. People killed for portraying Islam in a bad light. Huge riots over offensive cartoons. Radical Muslims slaughtering moderate, peaceful Muslims who do not toe the fascist line of the Islamists. Recently, radical Islamists in Germany, France, England, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and elsewhere have stated their plan. They do not plan to assimilate. They plan to grow in numbers. They plan to vote. They plan to eventually comprise majorities in all countries, and to seize power. (To quote a Muslim woman in Germany, ''We will outbreed you.'')

What happens when Muslims constitute a majority — or even a significant minority — in many European countries? If the radicals among them are in charge, there will be threats of violence and real violence.

Islamic Books Banned

Common sense:

The review board said in a statement that Defence of the Muslim Lands "promotes and incites in matters of crime, specifically terrorism acts, including the plan, action and execution of martyrdom operations".

"The book is specific and explicit in its support for and encouragement of suicide bombing, including details for undertaking such crimes," the board said.

The second book, Join the Caravan, also "has the objective purpose of promoting and inciting acts of terrorism against disbelievers and is a real and genuine call to specific action by Muslims to fight for Allah and engage in acts of violence".

The Islamic Council thinks encouraging to kill is acceptable: "Islamic Council of Victoria spokesman Waleed Ali said the ban was not justified."

Does this make them extremists or are they "moderate" muslims?

Sydney: Muslim extremists flood Internet

Internet chat rooms and websites are being flooded with messages by Muslim extremists in Sydney calling to make Australia an Islamic state and voicing their support for some of the world's most notorious terrorists.

The fundamentalists are using the innocent-looking websites to post material similar to that uncovered in an internet-based plan to attack New York, News Limited newspapers report.

The foiled plot has been revealed by US investigators.

One of them is the Sydney Muslim Youth Forum, which devoted several threads to turning Australia into an Islamic state.

Banned Butties At Muslim Festival

Better not contain bacon!

COPS were banned from eating BACON butties by their own bosses at a Muslim festival — for fear of causing offence.

Two chief inspectors sent back the lunch snacks when they arrived for officers.

They were worried the bacon and ham content would offend Muslims who do not eat the meat for religious reasons.

Caterers had provided sarnies for cops at the Islam Expo event at Alexandra Palace in North London. But the chief inspectors ordered them to be returned to the station at Tottenham.

As Commander O’Connor said: “The senior officers who made this decision deserve a kick up the backside.”

Clerics Hate Speeches and Their Hypocrisy

A British imam, Sheikh Riyadh Ul-Haq gave a speech by video conference after having been banned from going to Canada. The most interesting from this article are the two last paragraphs:

Tarek Fatah, a spokesman for the Muslim Canadian Council, predicted before Ul-Haq spoke that he would be on his best behaviour over the weekend.

"These imams know when they are being watched and when they are not being watched and their speeches change accordingly," he said.

I am not surprised. I´ve been insisting that the muslim communities can and should do much more themselves, like reporting hate speeches, terrorist plots etc., to the proper authorities.

Prime Minister Tony Blair said this today:

Mr Blair said: "In the end, Government itself cannot go and root out the extremism in these communities.

"I am not the person to go into the Muslim community and explain to them that this extreme view is not the true face of Islam."

The Prime Minister added: "I profoundly disagree that the problem here is that the Government hasn't acted.

"People should stand up and not merely say, 'You are wrong (but) you are wrong in your view about the West, you are wrong in your sense of grievance, the whole ideology is profoundly wrong'."

Indeed.

And he added:

THE threat of further attacks on Britain was "clear and active", British Prime Minister Tony Blair said today, just days before the first anniversary of the July 7 suicide bombings in London.

"I believe at the moment we have a clear and active threat. I want our police and our security services focused on dealing with that threat," Mr Blair told a committee of parliamentarians.

Mr Blair said the police and security services had foiled plots since last year's attacks on London's transport network, and were aware of groups planning similar attacks.

As long as the muslim communities refuse to stand up against the imams malevolent speeches they contribute to worsen the relationship between muslims and westerners.

One more thing. This poll reveals, as Allahpundit puts it, "~15% of British Muslims have a rod for jihad". And if you add the ones who didn´t dare/feel like saying they support terrorism acts, the number would increase for sure. That´s totally unacceptable. We´re no longer talking about a "tiny minority":

Martyrdom Supporter To Speak In London On The Eve of 7/7

This is just insulting for the 7/7 victims:

Palestinian Azzam Tamimi, 51 — who once said he might be prepared carry out a suicide attack in Israel himself — addresses the Islam Expo rally on Thursday.

Dr Tamimi is to take the platform hours before a minute’s silence for the first anniversary of the Tube and bus atrocity which killed 52.

John Falding, whose partner Anat Rosenberg was a victim, said: “Given what he has said in the past, it is upsetting.”

But hey, he´s making the necessary distinction. Killing innocents is OK only in some occasions:

But yesterday Dr Tamimi insisted: “I have always made a distinction between the right of the Palestinian people to fight the Israeli occupation and the terrorist attacks on London.”

I think he should be banned from this event, but he has been invited to participate in Islam Expo. The Exposure will be complete.

Islam Is Intolerant

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) vice chair testified Friday before a house subcommittee that Christian minorities in the Middle East are killed and harassed by governments.

"One of the common themes that cuts across each of these countries, and several others for that matter, is the extent to which a government perpetuates hatred against religious minorities and fosters religious extremism within its society or even beyond its borders through its education system, the official media, and other government policies," Shea summarized after reporting on the situation in each country before the House International Relations (HIRC) Subcommittee on Africa, Global Human Rights and International Operations yesterday.

In other words, organized hatred, intolerance and slaughter of non-muslims.

Cleric Preaches Beautiful Jihad To Kids. What´s Wrong With These People?

I mean, really? It´s backward, primitive, stupid, awful, evil, atrocious, nasty, immoral, wicked, destructive, malign, perverse and sick. And they permit themselves to call it "the religion of peace"...

I am thankful to MEMRI who translates all the hate spewing discourses going on in mosques, meetings, television and conferences in the Islamic world. The clerics, imams and any other islamic teacher are being exposed every week. MEMRI has become essential for us westerners to know what´s really going on. I bet the islamists aren´t very impressed with MEMRI, who came along and ruined their plan. For me, that´s a satisfying thought.

The Byzantines had a very, very large army, whereas the Muslims did not have many fighters. So Abu Qudama walked down the alleys and streets, among the poor, calling: "Come join the Jihad," "Come join the Jihad."

A woman said to him: "Abu Qudama, I have a boy. I will give him to you. Take him with you to war." He asked: "Is he still a boy?" She said: "He is 15 years old, and his father was martyred in the previous war. Since his father's martyrdom, he sits day and night, praying that Allah grant him martyrdom."

Sa'id shot the first arrow, killing one [infidel]. With the second arrow, he killed another infidel, and with the third, he killed a third. Then he was hit by an arrow, and fell to the ground as a martyr. He achieved the martyrdom for which he yearned.

A little later, he drew his last breath. Sa'id, the 15-year-old child, was martyred for the sake of Allah. He died happy.

Interview With An Iraqi General

The Real Ugly American pointed me to this interview with an iraqi general made by a sergeant in the Army Reserve, stationed in Qayyarah.

Qayyarah is a model for other Iraqi cities because it was once a haven for terrorists but is now safe enough for anyone to travel around in without fear of terrorists. The main reason for the safety of Qayyarah lies with one man: General Ali.

The second part of this interview will be published on Wednesday. In that piece the general calls the media "a tool of the terrorists".

Senator Ted Stevens Explains The Internet: "It´s Not a Truck". Jessica Simpson Weighs In (video)...

Instapundit pointed me to this post: Senator Ted Stevens (Republican, Alaska), who voted against Net Neutrality, talks about the sophisticated functioning of "The Internet":

They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the internet. And again, the internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a truck.

It's a series of tubes.

And if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and its going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material.

That´s close to how I´d explain it to a five-year-old. And using the explanatory powerpoint made by Meryl Yourish, it would be even more comprehensive for the toddler.

Meanwhile, senator Stevens will continue to hit that vote-button when future communication questions are being raised...

Terrorists Recruit White Muslims, Many Support Terror Attacks

Terrorists recruit white Muslims:

London: Significant numbers of white Britons have been lured into Islamic terrorism, according to a Whitehall report.

Details of the document, which have emerged in the week before the first anniversary of the July 7 London Tube bombings, also reveal that white converts and other British Muslims are joining a "terrorist career path'" after being targeted by radicalist recruiters at universities or by extremist preachers.

The document, which was produced by officials from MI5 and the Home and Foreign Offices, also states that as many as 16,000 British Muslims or one per cent of the Muslim population in Britain "support" Islamic terrorist acts at home and abroad.

The document, entitled "Young Muslims and Extremism" and drawn up for the prime minister by officials at the Home and Foreign and Commonwealth Offices, also states that anecdotal evidence suggests that up to 13 per cent or 208,000 of Britain's 1.6 million Muslims defended the terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001, while 26 per cent or 416,000 Muslims have admitted that they feel no loyalty towards Britain.

That´s not a "tiny minority".
